Anthem Properties & The Beedie Group Retain Binnie for Station Square Redevelopment
December 21, 2011: Binnie has been retained by Anthem Properties and The Beedie Group to provide civil engineering services on the redevelopment of Station Square in Burnaby.
The redevelopment is a signature project in the Metrotown area, transforming the 12-acre mall site into a vibrant, mixed-use retail, office and residential development. This challenging project includes detailed and strategic phasing of the works, as the redevelopment is intended to be phased over 10 years through multiple rezoning and subdivision applications, while the existing mall remains open for business.
Binnie’s scope of services include design and construction support for significant road and utility improvements to Central Boulevard, McKay Avenue and Kingsway, as well as the internal road network and servicing of the site. In addition, Binnie will provide downstream storm sewer capacity analysis, on-site stormwater management and erosion and sediment control design for the construction phases.
Led by Tom Rabey, Senior Project Manager in the Lower Mainland Division, the Binnie team includes Design Manager Terry Chow, Design Engineer Gehad Ramadan, Intermediate Engineer Eric Paice, Junior Engineer Nico Polano, and Senior Designer Steve Jeffares.
The Station Square project is another high profile, signature land development assignment for Binnie in the company's quest to become the consultant of choice in British Columbia.
