Binnie Wins at MoTI’s Deputy Minister’s Consulting Engineering Awards 2010
January 2011: Members of Binnie’s Project Services and Transportation Divisions walked away with two Finalist Awards at the annual Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure’s Deputy Minister’s Consulting Engineers Awards.
In the Design and Contract Preparation – Road competition, Maurizio Ponzini and Gebre Libsekal lead the Transportation Division team including Keith Tompkins, Eddie Ballarin, Jonathan Ho, Jeff Shi, Bill Wong, Don McKillop, Joe Kanera, Sharon Chiang, and Gene Lesperance. The project honoured was Highway 97: 148 Mile to Likely Road 4-Lane Design, where Binnie completed the Functional and Detailed Design for the realignment and widening of four kilometres of rural highway to upgrade it to a 4-lane arterial standard.
In the Specialized Engineering Services competition, the Project Services team of Jay Dunbar, Richard Bush, and Simon Lee were finalists for their Project Management Services on the South Coast Region Lake-of-the-Woods Left Turn project and others.
The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure’s Deputy Minister’s Consulting Engineers Awards recognize the excellence of consulting engineers that partner with the ministry in improving B.C.’s transportation infrastructure.
