City of Powell River Awards Recreation Complex Track & Sports Field Contract to Binnie

May 27, 2010: The City of Powell River has awarded the contract for the planning, design, contract administration, and construction management of their new Recreation Complex Track & Sports Field to R.F. Binnie & Associates.

The response to the Request for Proposal was prepared by Jay Dunbar, Project Manager at our Sechelt office, Catherine Eiswerth, and James Martens, with support from Aaron Hamilton, Simon Lee, and Gary Shilling.

The Binnie team assembled for the project includes: Jay Dunbar, Project Manager; Catherine Eiswerth, Design Manager; James Martens, Senior Construction Support; Chelsea Sissons, CAD; Aaron Hamilton, Senior Inspector; and Hugh Rae, Construction Surveyor.

Binnie has a long-standing reputation as a highly qualified design consultant and project manager for sports facilities, including sand-based natural grass fields (baseball, softball, soccer, football, etc.), competition level track and field projects, community running tracks, synthetic turf sports fields and various other outdoor athletic facilities for Municipalities and School Districts throughout British Columbia.

Binnie will act as the Prime Consultant, Sports Facility Designer, Civil Engineer and Surveyor and will be responsible for overall project management, track and field design, civil engineering including drainage, site planning and grading, tender document preparation, cost estimating and cost control, scheduling, surveying, contract administration and inspection.
