Specialized Project Management Services
Binnie provides a wide range of Specialized Project Management services, both in combination with, and separately from our other engineering services. Our experienced Project Managers draw on their diverse range of expertise gained from Private Sector projects, Municipal and Provincial Public Sector management experience, and formal PMI-certified Professional Project Management training.
ALTERNATE PROCUREMENT MANAGEMENT
Binnie's Senior Project Managers have extensive experience with evaluating and implementing conventional and alternate procurement strategies on projects ranging from artificial turf sports fields to highway interchanges.
OWNER'S ENGINEER
Binnie's has provided Owner's Engineering Services for Provincial and Municipal roads and sports field infrastructure, as well as private development projects since 1997. The type of Owner's Engineer services provided varied depending on the delivery mechanism selected for the project, ranging from Design/Build to Design/Build/Develop to Design/Build/Finance/Operate.
Feature Project - Sea to Sky Improvement Project
The Sea to Sky Improvement Project consisted of the safety, reliability, capacity and operational improvement of the 95 km long Horseshoe Bay to Whistler corridor, in addition to meeting the transportation infrastructure requirements for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games. In consortium with SNC-Lavalin, Binnie was a member of the Owner's Engineer team for the project.
The Project was in part delivered by the Alliance Model, in part by Design/Build, but mostly through a Design/Build/Finance/Operate model. Binnie was specifically responsible for the preparation of the Design Criteria and Engineering and Design Management process.
QUALITY MANAGEMENT
Binnie has a corporate Quality Policy that guides the processes for all of our work. Binnie's internal Quality Management Processes include quality control and quality assurance checks of our survey, design, drafting, and documentation. In addition to implementing Quality Management programs for our engineering projects, we are also able to provide specialized quality management services to our clients.
PROGRAM MANAGEMENT
Binnie has provided Program Management services for the development, implementation, procurement and contract administration stages of infrastructure renewal and maintenance programs. Past programs include Pavement Rehabilitation, Sewer Inflow & Infiltration Reduction, Crack Sealing, Pavement Cut Restoration, Concrete Repair, and Lane Paving Programs.

Successful Cost Management is a critical component of our projects. We recognize the importance of accurate cost estimating and budgeting to our clients, and have established thorough cost control processes to deliver projects on-budget. Services include:
PROJECT RISK MANAGEMENT
Project Risks are uncertain events that can have a negative or positive effect on project objectives. Binnie's Risk Management processes involve close interaction with the client and stakeholders to identify their risk tolerance, and acceptable risk thresholds.
CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT
Binnie provides Construction Management, Contract Administration, Resident Engineering and Field Services for over $30 million of construction annually. Construction projects include land development site servicing, municipal utilities and roads, and provincial highways construction.
