Canada Way Trafffic Management Services
Phase 5 of the Douglas Road Main No. 2 water main Phase 5, Kincaid Section, consists of the installation of approximately 1.5 km of 1,500 mm diameter welded steel pipe and one valve chamber. The new water main installation is intended to replace the aging Douglas Main to improve the water delivery system between the Vancouver Heights in Burnaby and Westburnco area in New Westminster.
During construction, traffic pattern and lane changes will be required and the implementation strategies are outlined in the Traffic Management Plan.
Binnie has performed a detailed traffic analysis on Canada Way within the project limits to determine the minimum road capacity that needs to be maintained throughout various peak periods of the day to ensure that any disruptions to the existing traffic flow can be minimized. Traffic Control Plan drawings are also being prepared to show the layout of traffic control measures to guide traffic through the work zone.
