Capilano College Transit Terminal

Location:
North Vancouver, BC

A new bus loop at Capilano University was  required to provide better transit service for the students and staff.  A very confined site was provisioned for the bus loop, and construction was fast tracked in order to meet the demands of a tight schedule. The Project components included an Environmental Assessment, Geotechnical Investigation, Drainage Improvements, Geometric Design for Bus Turning Movements, Electrical Lighting, Grading, Pavement Marking, and Signage.  Work also entailed upgrading Monashee Drive to withstand the bus loads and improve drainage.

Binnie's responsibilities included: Project Management, Conceptual Design, Detailed Design, Contract Preparation, Contract Administration and Full Time Inspection for the entire project.  Binnie co-ordinated the work with multiple stakeholders including Translink, GVWD, Capilano University and the District of North Vancouver.  We also worked closely with the Translink Planning Department to ensure pedestrian movement issues were addressed.
