Highway 1 Hoffman's Bluff Widening

Location:
Southern Interior, BC

The Hoffman's Bluff Highway 1 project involved the widening of 6.3km of Trans Canada Highway 1 between Pritchard and Chase to achieve 100km/h four-lane undivided highway standard. The existing highway geometry was poor in some areas due to right-of-way constraints between Hoffman's Bluff and CP Rail.  The Highway and Structural Design was achieved in difficult terrain, and addressed Environmental and Geotechnical challenges.

Binnie performed Project Management, Functional and Detailed Design, and Survey.  The project included Functional Design of a future interchange, Detailed Design of retaining wall structures, at-grade intersections, 100km/h four-lane undivided highway, extensive geotechnical and environmental engineering and analysis.
