Highway 29 Road Infrastructure - Site C Dam Project

This road infrastructure project is located along 4 distinct segments of Highway 29, between Fort St. John and Hudson’s Hope, BC, impacted by the construction of the reservoir associated with the Site C Dam Project. In total, the project is approximately 20 km in length with four major bridge crossings.

The segments for relocation include Cache Creek/Bear Flats, Halfway River, Farrell Creek, and Lynx Creek.

 The scope of this assignment includes the Project Preparation, Optimize Definition Design and Finalize Definition Design Stages of the new bridge structures and associated roadway infrastructure along the previously identified segments of highway 29. The final Definition Design Package will be submitted by Hydro as part of the Stage 3, Environmental and Regulatory Review Package. If approved, the Binnie Team will prepare the 50% Detailed Design and Issued for Construction Design Packages.

 Binnie's responsibilities include Geotechnical, Structural, Geometric, Survey, Hydrological, Road Safety Audit, Multiple Accounts Evaluation, and Socio-Economic team members. The Binnie Team is led by Gordon Wagner, P.Eng, who reports to the BC Hydro OE Team on high level project related issues. Other communications/meetings are held between the Binnie Team and Hydro OE Team technical experts. Binnie also provides reporting on all Project Management related issues (scope, schedule, budget, quality, risks, and personnel). Binnie also prepared 3/4 of the Geometric Design and completed the Survey Control, OG pick up and Bathymetric Survey.
