Highway 97 - 59 Mile and Bullock Lake

Location:
Northern BC

Project was initiated at 59 Mile and extended North 2.5 kilometers. One of the major challenges of this project was the 60KV power line which was relocated for the entire length of the project.  There were also road profile and drainage issues which were dealt with and improved in the field.

A second Project extended approximately 2.0 kilometers south of Bullock Lake Road at 83 Mile.  It waextended south an existing 4 lane section of highway.  This project had a number of significant earth cuts and embankments. Drainage from this area goes into the wetlands around 83 Mile, therefore environmental management was of concern. There were also some issues with profile which were dealt with in the field.

Binnie provided Day Labour Supervision of equipment and manpower which involved excavators, dozers, compactors and graders.  We also coordinated work with utility companies, monitored project schedule and budget, and prepared project specific safety, quality and traffic management plans.
