Highway 97 - Pine Pass
This project is located between Prince George and Chetwynd on Highway 97 and is approximately 90 kilometres south of Chetwynd between Bennett and Link Creek. The project provides for reconstruction and widening of 11.2 kilometres of the existing highway which includes 2.1 km of new road.
To overcome some of the sub-standard horizontal alignments, the project includes two major bridges crossing the Pine River. There are also two minor bridges to replace existing culverts along Highway 97. Other construction works includes type A and D excavation, blasting, embankent fills, granualr fills, and EPS paving. The project involves Bridge and Grade Construction in a challenging location.
Binnie provided Construction Supervision Services, which included Quality Assurance (EPS and working with Ministry Lab), Review of Contractors Quality Control Plan, Environmental Plan, Traffic Management Plan, and Site Safety Plan. The On-Site team also tracked quantities through survey and re-measures. Contract costs and schedules were documented and sent out to the various stakeholders on a weekly basis to keep all team members in the loop. All payments are processed using the Ministry PES software and tracked using an over/under run spread sheet and graph..
