Lougheed Highway Bicycle Lane Improvements Study

Binnie was retained by BC MoT to provide engineering services to upgrade an existing bicycle path in the City of Coquitlam near the Highway 1 Cape Horn/Mary Hill Interchange. This assignment was intended to enhance the mobility and safety for cyclists traversing around the interchange system by removing obstacles and improving the transitioning between shoulder and off-road bicycle paths.

Geometric design of the proposed bicycle lane improvements was prepared based on the revised Design Criteria. Signing and pavement markings drawings were also prepared to ensure proper guidance for cyclist is provided. The construction cost estimates were completed at various stages of the design for budget planning purposes.
