Peace Arch Visitors Centre

The $4.6 million dollar BC Visitor Centre ar Peace Arch in Surrey, BC is a stunning facility showcasing BC wood products to visitors in the more than 3 million vehicles that pass through the Peace Arch border every year.  The facilty was opened in February 2009 in preparation for the increased flow of visitors expected in 2010 for the Winer Olympics.

Binnie was retained as the Civil Consultant responsible for the detailed design and construction site review of the parking lot and undeground infrastructure servicing the new building.  The project was designed to meet LEED Gold Standards.  Best management practices such as bio-swales, permeable concrete, and a landscaped median were implemented.
