Port Mann / Highway 1 Improvement Project

The Port Mann/Highway 1 Improvement Project includes construction of a new 10-lane Port Mann Bridge, widening the highway, upgrading interchanges and improving access and safety on Highway 1.

The project spans a distance of approximately 37 kilometres from the McGill Street Interchange in Vancouver to 216th Street in Langley.

 Binnie's responsibilities relate to reviews of the Design Build Contractor’s submissions and reports and consist of four distinct activities: 1) Coordinating the submission and review process; 2) Review of detour and traffic control plans; 3) Property acquisition drawings; 4) Review of geometric design, signage and pavement markings; and 5) Design of intersections, interchanges and road sections not covered by the reference concept as well as design of multipurpose urban paths.
