South Fraser Perimeter Road at Delta Landfill Sites

The Delta Landfill assignment involved the detailed design of a portion of the South Fraser Perimeter Road (SFPR) through existing landfill sites in Delta.  The design and construction of the landfill closure on this section of the SFPR was to be included in the Concession Agreement, but the design and construction challenges were deemed too great; therefore, the Gateway Program gave Binnie the assignment to prepare the design and tender documents.

Binnie was responsible for providing the following; additional topographic survey, as required, coordination with Golder, KWL and MoT Geotechnical; development of preliminary design for SFPR laning and geometrics; 70% detailed design for roadway excavations and embankment, preloading and surface drainage including complex culvert design at the BNSF Railway and River Road crossings; 100% detailed design and cost estimates for construction; and completion of final tender documents including Special Provisions and Appendices and Approximate Quantities and Unit Prices.
