Thunderbird Creek Residential Subdivision: Phase 1

The Sea to Sky division of Binnie provided civil engineering services for the design and construction phases of the 82 single-family lot residential subdivision located in the Garibaldi Highlands, in Squamish, BC for Townline Ventures Squamish Ltd.

 The development consisted of 82 residential lots, with on-site rain garden infiltration systems, located on a 7.7 Hectare site with extensive landscaping in Squamish, BC.

The development emphasized the Smart Growth and Sustainable Design Principles and Philosophy promoted by the District of Squamish and the Department of Fisheries and Oceans. Stormwater runoff management from the pervious surfaces used an alternative typical road section with landscaped rain garden infiltration systems and to reduce the area of impervious surfaces for meeting the requirement for Volume Reduction, Water Quality, and Detention.
