Trenchless Technology Pipe Bursting
Location:
Pitt Meadows , BC The District of Pitt Meadows retained Binnie to review the condition of a sanitary sewer on Mitchell Road and determine the best method to rehabilitate the pipe. Due to the poor soils and depth of the sewer, we suggested using a trenchless technology method.
The original 400 millimeter asbestos concrete sewer pipe was replaced with a 530 millimeter HDPE pipe using pipe bursting technology. After the pipe was pulled through the existing manholes, they were re-grouted. Using this method of sewer replacement resulted in significant cost saving for the District.
